📚 Book Reflection: The Alchemist & How It Inspires My Debt-Free Journey
Spoiler-Free
If there’s one book I return to time and time again, it’s The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. 🌍✨ I make it a point to read it every year—or whenever I’m in a season of transition or challenge. It’s my go-to when I need a mindset reset, and this year, it’s hitting differently as I navigate my journey to become debt-free.
💬 Quotes That Speak to My Soul
There are so many gems in this book, but a few always stay with me—especially now:
“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
This line is pure magic. ✨ When I first started facing the reality of my debt, it felt isolating—but this quote reminds me that once I set my intention, small things (and people) started aligning to help. Whether it’s finding a money-saving tip, getting a freelance gig, or hearing someone else’s story—it all adds up.
“The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.”
This one hits HARD. Especially after setbacks like impulse spending or even deeper relapses I’ve shared about. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about getting back up. Again. And again.
🛤️ Applying the Wisdom
The Alchemist isn’t about money—but it is about purpose, perseverance, and trusting the process. And honestly, all of that applies to paying off debt too. There are moments in this journey that feel overwhelming, slow, or even defeating. But this book reminds me that every step—even the messy ones—serve a purpose.
🔁 Why I Keep Re-reading It
No matter how many times I read it, I always take something new away based on where I am in life. Years ago, I read it while looking for a new job. This time, I’m reading it while rebuilding my finances and myself. Same story—new lens. 👓
📚 Thinking About Reading The Alchemist?
If this book has been on your list, or if you’re in a season where you’re looking for encouragement, The Alchemist might be the perfect read. I return to it whenever I need a little reminder to trust the journey.
